The sun is shining and the temperature is more spring like today.  Hip, Hip, Hooray!  Only nine more days until Spring.

Last month at our early out program boys and girls enjoyed playing a couple new indoor games called “Thin Ice” and “Pom-Pom Curling”.  They also played the popular “Whee Ball” from the another Wednesday’s Bunch program.  All of these games can be found in the February 2014 Family Fun magazine which we get at the library.  The Family Fun magazine for March is in and it has some great ideas for different games, decorations, and parties.  Be sure to come up to the children’s department and check it out.  Magazines have a one week check out.

Preschool Story Time continues to meet every Tuesday from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m.

This program is for three to five year olds.  Join Peg for stories, action rhymes, music activities, and crafts.

I am excited to announce that Lisa Laird with her “Pockets Full of Fun” will be helping us celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday.  Be sure to mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 12 at 10:00 a.m. and come upstairs to the children’s department to experience some stories, magic, and fun.  All ages are welcome.  Children three years old and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Spring Break has begun.   Monday, March 10 several children made their own rubber band bracelet or ring.  The rubber bands and clips will be provided for each bracelet or ring.  After making their bracelets the boys and girls browsed our shelves for some great reading and used the new AWE learning computers.

Tuesday, March 11 I will be available to show our new AWE learning computers to anyone who would like to use them.  Two of the computers are geared for preschool children through the fourth grade and the other has the same type of programs and activities but is geared for older boys and girls.  Each computer has two headsets so that the parent and child may listen to the instructions together and do the activities.  The keyboard is color coded and the child can use the mouse or touch the screen to do each activity.  These computers are not connected to internet.  Come and experience these awesome computers with your child.

Thursday, March 13 there will be a scavenger hunt and some surprise crafts to make in the children’s department from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Stop by and pick up your March newsletter so you don’t miss out on our exciting and fun activities and programs.
